Commissioner
Qualifications
Seven commissioners, all members of the community, are appointed by the Blue Valley Board of Education to serve staggered four-year terms. Two citizens are appointed from each of the three school board member districts and one serves at-large. No previous background is required beyond an interest in recreation and leisure services, and experience on a similar governing body. Responsibilities
The commission is a policy-setting board that typically meets at
7:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. In addition to monthly board meetings, commissioners serve on committees that normally meet once per month and are asked to attend various BVRC related functions/activities. Commissioners receive no compensation for service to the commission.
