5K/1Mile Race Info

Join us in the heart of Overland Park, KS for our BVRC Special Olympics 5K/1Mile Run. It is a not-for-profit race that benefits the local community. The Blue Valley Blue Streaks is a local Special Olympics team, that participates throughout the year in local, regional, and state events. Money raised from the BVRC Special Olympics 5K/1Mile will help to purchase equipment, uniforms, entry fees, awards, scholarships, and transportation for the Blue Streaks Special Olympics team.

Aug. 1 - Aug 9, 2019 $45.00 $25.00
 
Online registration closes August 9 at 11:59P.
Under 18 years old must have parent/guardian register for them.
 
Registration fees will not be refunded, transferred, or credit.

Race Start Location: Blue Valley Recreation Sports Complex- Fields 2-4 (9701 W. 137th).
5K Race Start: 7:30A
1 Mile Race Start: 7:40A

*Shirt sizes are guaranteed when registered by July 31st for all 5k participants. Participants for 1Mile can purchase a T-shirt for $7.30.

FAQ

Will there be food and drinks at the end?
Yes, we will have food, water, and Gatorade for all participants at the end of the race.

Where does the race start and where does it end?
The race starts and finishes at the Blue Valley Recreation Sports Complex (9701 W. 137th St) in Fields 2-4 parking lot.

Where does the course go?
The USATF Certified Course starts on 137th Street and loops east to Antioch, south at 143rd Street, west to Switzer, then north to 137th Street to end where it began. 

What if it rains?
We will run in the rain, but reserve the right to cancel the race should conditions become unsafe.

Do I have to register online?
Yes, you do.

I registered, but can't participate. Do I still get my shirt?
Yes, you can still pick up your shirt at the Rec Center starting August 9. Shirts and medals will NOT be mailed.

I won't be able to participate. Can I transfer my registration to next year or give it to a friend?
No, we don't allow refunds, transfers, or credits.

Can I use a stroller?
Yes, this is a family event and we would love to have everyone come. We do ask that all participants using strollers start in the back of the pack, so the runners without the strollers can clear space first.

Can a friend or family member pick up my packet?
Of course!
