Learn to Swim Program

Swim lessons save lives! Our lessons are conducted with certified lifeguards on duty at all times. We teach all ages, including babies, youth and adults. Sessions are available year-round in our indoor, temperature-controlled pools.

Seahorses
Ages 6 months-18 months with swimming adult
Parents and toddlers are introduced to the water through blowing bubbles, floating, and kicking.
 
 
Starfish
Ages 18 months-3 years with swimming adult
Work together on water orientation and the basics of swimming such as blowing bubbles, floating, kicking, underwater exploration, and object retrieval.
 
Goldfish
Ages 3-5
Students are taught to feel comfortable in the water using assisted skills.
  • Intro to Water: Blowing bubbles; putting eyes, nose, and face in water; Bobs
  • Swim Skills on Front: Front float with face in; Front glide with face in and kick; Flutter kicks on front; Front crawl arms and kick combined
  • Swim Skills on Back: Back float; Back glide with kick; Flutter kick on back; Back crawl with arms and kick combined.
  • Additional Skills: Roll from front to back; Roll from back to front; Chicken-Airplane-Soldier; Circle arms
 
 
Sunfish
Ages 4-5
Students are taught to feel comfortable in the water using unassisted skills.
  • Intro to Water: Blowing bubbles; Putting eyes, nose, and face in water; Bobs
  • Swim Skills on Front: Front float with face in; Front glide with face in and kick; Flutter kicks on front; Front crawl arms and kicks combined.

Jellyfish
Ages 6-15)
Students are taught to feel comfortable in the water using unassisted skills.

Sea Turtle 
Ages 6-15
Students are taught to feel comfortable in the water using unassisted skills.

Stingray  
Ages 6-15
Gives students success with fundamental skills.
  • Swim Skills on Front: Front crawl with rotary breathing; Breaststroke; Butterfly arms; Dolphin kick
  • Swim Skills on Back: Backstroke
  • Additional Skills: Kneeling dive; Compact dive; Treading water; Open turns
 
 
 Dolphin
Ages 6-15
Develops confidence in the skills learned and 
improves other aquatic skills.
  • Swim Skills on Front/Side: Front crawl with rotary breathing; Breaststroke; Butterfly; Scissor kick
  • Swim Skills on Back: Backstroke
  • Additional Skills: Standing dive; Starts; Treading; Intro to flip turns
 
 Shark  
Ages 6-15
Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.
  • Swim Skills on Front/Side: Front crawl with rotary breathing; Breaststroke; Butterfly; Sidestroke
  • Swim Skills on Back: Backstroke, Elementary backstroke
  • Additional Skills: Standing dive; Starts; Treading water; Flip turns
