Blue Valley Rec Scholarships
Making a Difference
Blue Valley Rec scholarships have a huge impact on a child’s development. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help qualifying families with the cost of awesome activities like sports leagues, dance, swim lessons, art classes, summer camps, and more! Each eligible child ages 18 and under can receive a Blue Valley Rec scholarship up to $500 per year to use toward these programs.
We base Blue Valley Rec scholarships on your household income, using the same guidelines as the Blue Valley School District’s Free and Reduced Lunch Program. If your child already qualifies for that program, just send us a copy of your school letter with your scholarship application. If not, no worries — you can still apply by submitting your financial info along with the form.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Scholarships cover half the cost of each activity, and you’ll pay the other half.
- Funds are available from July 1 to mid-June of the next year.
- Applications must be submitted at least 7 business days before you sign up for a class or program.
- We’ll contact you by phone or email once you’re approved,
- After that, you can register Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM, by phone (for non-sports) or in person at the Activity Center or Rec Center.

Frequently Asked Scholarship Questions
Blue Valley Rec scholarships pay for 50% of the activity and we ask that the family pay for the other 50% of the activity.
Blue Valley Rec uses the same guidelines as the Blue Valley School District’s Free and Reduced Lunch Program.

Scholarships can be used on most youth activities and programs including swim lessons, gymnastics lessons, dance classes, enrichment classes, sport camps and leagues, events, and Rec Center youth memberships. Scholarships are not valid for facility rentals, birthday parties, personal training sessions, or private lessons.
Scholarship registrations are handled the same as all registrations.
