Deep Water Aqua Fit & Arthritis Aqua Fit
Deep Water – Strengthen your core, build lean muscles, and improve cardio fitness with no impact to your joints. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
Arthritis – Provides a calming environment for exercise without putting excess strain on your joints and muscles. The gentle activities in warm water, with guidance from an arthritis certified instructor, will help you gain strength and flexibility, while decreasing inflammation and pain. No formal swimming skills needed. All equipment is provided.
H2O Body Mix & H20 Baby
H20 Body Mix is a high-intensity work out in our lap pool focuses on cardio, core strengthening and muscle toning. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
H20 Baby is a post-natal aqua fit class is designed for mom and baby (6 months-2 years) get your body back while exposing baby to beginner swim lesson skills and water safety. This fitness swim lesson combo is a great place to get active while meeting other new moms.
Aqua River Fit & Aqua River Mix
Fit – Challenge balance and coordination with high-intensity movements while keeping heart rate up. You must be strong enough to resist the push of moving water. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
Mix – Perform high-intensity exercises to get the heart rate up. Begin in the lazy river channel for jogging, aerobic exercise, and use of resistance equipment for upper body strengthening. Move to lap pool for core and upper body exercise. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
Aqua Core Mix
This high-energy class includes cardio, weights, deep water, resistance equipment, and abdominal and low back exercises. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
Wavemakers
Looking for a new exercise routine or want to strengthen your muscles? Need exercise with low impact to go with your healthy lifestyle goals? You have found all of those in this water class. It will be challenging, yet fun, easy on your joints and will help your flexibility, and improve muscle tone. No swimming skills required, equipment will be used for resistance and muscle building.
Just My Speed Aqua Fit
Just My Speed Lap – This moderate intensity work out in our lap pool focuses on cardio, core strengthening and muscle toning. It’s encouraged and easy to modify. No formal
swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
Just My Speed River – This moderate intensity work out in our river focuses on cardio, core strengthening and muscle toning. It’s encouraged and easy to modify to Just Your Speed. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment is provided.
Stretch & Strength Aqua Fit
This gentle, mild intensity course focuses on strength and stretching, using a mix of shallow and deep water in the lap pool. You will feel stronger and rejuvenated after strengthening and stretching your core muscle groups.
Aqua Senior & Advanced Senior
Senior – This low impact, mild intensity, fitness class focuses on increased flexibility, coordination, and balance while being gentle on the joints.
Advanced Senior – Designed to provide a challenging, yet joint-friendly workout. Focus on joints, flexibility, and muscle
toning. No formal swimming skills needed. Equipment provided.
Lap Swim
The perfect workout for those looking to improve cardiovascular health and strengthen muscles while enjoying a low-impact exercise. Lap Swim is available for all abilities with four lanes in our 84-degree lap pool. Lap lanes can be reserved and we do have a few Drop-in times available.
Our Activity Center houses 2 heated indoor pools: a 25-yard lap pool with 4 lanes, and a zero-depth entry pool with a lazy river channel.
The lap pool temperature is kept between 82-24 degrees and the Lazy River temperature is around 84 degrees.
Only our certified instructors can use our pools for swim lessons in Overland Park. We do not allow lessons with outside instructors.
Locker rooms with showers and lockers are available.
Blue Valley Recreation and its partners reserve the right to use all photographs and video of participants for promotional purposes, including print, digital, advertisements, and social media promotions. This includes drone footage.
We have lockers and locker rooms with showers available for use while you are swimming along with Family Changing Rooms. Changing rooms cannot be reserved and we require you to remove your belongs from the room while you are swimming.
Please bring your own lock and remove it when you leave for the day.
A 100% Refund is granted when canceled 10 days before the start of the activity. A $10 processing fee will be charged to cancelations made 9-5 days before the start of the activity. No refunds will be issued for cancelations within 4 or fewer days from the start of the activity. Sorry, No make-ups or refunds for missed classes.
