Sixteen dancers from the Blue Valley Dance Company brought their passion and talent to the big stage at the Dance Out Nationals Competition, held June 25–28 at the Lied Center in Lawrence, Kansas. Over four exciting days, these local dancers competed against top teams from around the region—and they did not disappoint!
The national competition featured 13 dance categories and three performance levels: Intro, Intermediate, and Elite. Blue Valley’s dancers proudly competed in the Intermediate level, designed for recreational dancers who train five hours or less per week. Their routines showcased skill, commitment, and the joy of dance.
Age Groups and Divisions
Dancers competed in divisions based on age:
- Mini Division: Ages 6 and under
- Junior Division: Ages 9–10
- Teen Division: Ages 13–14
Each routine was evaluated by a panel of expert judges. Performances were scored in five key areas: technique, entertainment, precision, choreography, and costume.
