The fitness floor in Overland Park is available for Rec Center members only and we offer daily, monthly, and annual memberships to our Rec Center. Age restrictions apply and are listed below for your convenience.

Facility Counts

Patrons are expected to dress in attire appropriate for a family friendly fitness facility.
Closed toed athletic shoes must always be worn.
No crocs, dress shoes, or sandals allowed.
No bags. Lock up all personal belongings in the locker room or cubbies
Participants should wear athletic apparel and closed toed athletic shoes at all times.
Crocs, dress shoes and sandals are not allowed.
Pants/shorts with zippers, snaps, and buttons can damage weight training equipment; therefore, patrons are asked to avoid wearing such clothing when exercising on weight machines with pads.
Clothing must be appropriate for all ages.
Shirts must be worn at all times and should not be removed outside of a locker room/changing room area.
Undergarments (i.e sports bras, bras, underwear, etc.) must be covered at all times.
Swimsuits are not allowed.

Wipe down equipment using disinfectant wipes before and after use.
Limit use of cardio equipment to thirty (30) minutes if others are waiting.
Allow other members to “work-in” on strength machines. Do not monopolize equipment between sets.
Limit group workouts to 2-3 people to ensure safe spacing for others.
Return equipment to its designated place when done.
Do not drop the weights. Rerack all weights used.
No food; liquid in sealable-proof containers is permitted.
Offensive language, horseplay, or inappropriate/disrespectful behavior is not allowed and will not be tolerated.
Personal music must be played through headphones. Headphones must remain at a reasonable level to not disrupt other patrons.
No chalk is allowed in the fitness area.
No outside equipment is allowed to be used in facility without management approval.
Personal trainers other than authorized Rec Center personal trainers may not be on the fitness floor.
Refrain from using phones while on fitness floor and while utilizing equipment.

Blue Valley Recreation and its partners reserve the right to use all photographs and video of participants for promotional purposes, including print, digital, advertisements, and social media promotions. This includes drone footage. If you are uncomfortable with having your photo taken, please politely let the photographer know.

Members may use their mobile devices on the fitness floor to photograph or take video of themselves in very limited circumstances and this privilege may be revoked at any time and for any reason at the sole discretion of a Blue Valley Rec team member. Use of a mobile device on the gym floor may be acceptable under the following conditions:

- No member may use a mobile device to take photographs or videos if doing so presents a risk of injury to themselves or others.
- Out of respect for the privacy and comfort of our members, photographs or video should never include anyone who has not given their prior permission to appear in such images.
