Shane Gardner was recently appointed by the Blue Valley School District Board of Education as a new commissioner representing the north district with the Blue Valley Recreation Commission. Gardner’s four-year term began with the August 20 Commission meeting.

Gardner is co-founder and president of Orion Management Solutions in Leawood that manages seven golf facilities and consults for two others in the Kansa City Metro market. He’s been a class “A” member of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) for 20 years and graduated in the top five percent of PGA Business School attendees. He also served several years on Blue Valley Rec’s basketball advisory council

“We are pleased to have Shane join the Blue Valley Recreation Commission,” commented Colleen Browne, commission chair. “His years on the basketball advisory council, his time as a volunteer will, and his sports-business experience are all value-added assets from which Blue Valley Rec will benefit.”
Volunteer commissioners have a passion for enriching the lives of local residents through recreational activities and sports. The seven-member Board serves as a policy-setting board for the organization and meets monthly. Each commissioner serves on a committee comprised of staff and citizen members from the community. Gardner will serve on the Community Relations Committee and as an alternate for the Softball Advisory Council.
