At Blue Valley Rec, we believe everyone deserves the chance to participate in recreational activities. That’s why we proudly offer Inclusive Rec opportunities in Overland Park. These programs not only enhance quality of life, but also build a supportive community grounded in respect, acceptance, and inclusion.

Designed for both youth and adults, our inclusive activities promote curiosity, self-awareness, courage, and empathy. In addition, we welcome individuals to explore all of our programs, as assistance is available upon request. Finally, our Blue Valley Blue Streaks team represents our inclusive community at local, state, and regional events throughout the year.

Inclusive Rec Classes

At Blue Valley Rec, we take Inclusive Rec opportunities in Overland Park seriously. That’s why we offer a variety of programs year-round, while also providing seasonal activities that meet diverse interests. In addition, we’re happy to offer assistance upon request to help participants overcome any challenges and fully enjoy their experience. Please make sure to complete and submit our Assistance Request Form prior to registering for a class/activity.

Social Skills

Peer interaction

Whether you’re dancing the night away or joining a more structured gathering like Club 18, our Inclusive Rec social skills classes provide the perfect setting to meet new acquaintances and reconnect with familiar faces. Through fun and engaging activities, participants build confidence, strengthen communication, and develop lasting friendships—all in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Take control of your health in a fun and supportive environment. First, enjoy movement-based workouts that make fitness enjoyable and accessible. Then, explore a variety of class options tailored to different abilities and energy levels. No matter your starting point, our inclusive fitness classes help you stay active, build strength, and boost confidence—all while having a great time.

Independence

Then, they dive into hands-on activities such as cooking—where they follow simple recipes, practice kitchen safety, and build confidence step by step. Along the way, each class encourages growth, teamwork, and practical learning in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Blue Valley Blue Streaks

Get ready to represent with the Blue Valley Blue Streaks, our inclusive team that competes in a variety of sports throughout the season! First, make sure you have a current physical form on file—this is required before participating. Then, gear up with pride as one team jersey is provided. However, please note that any replacement jersey will include an additional charge. Join the excitement, build friendships, and showcase your skills with the Blue Streaks!

Sports
