Doug Seaberg was recently appointed by the Blue Valley School District Board of Education as a new commissioner representing the south district with the Blue Valley Recreation Commission. Seaberg’s four-year term began with the August 21 Commission meeting.

Seaberg, currently the vice president of sales for Kansas and Missouri at Dardis Communications, brings more than 20 years of management, marketing, and community involvement to the board. His three young sons keep him active in the community as a boy scout youth camp volunteer and a youth soccer coach. Seaberg also volunteers regularly for various school functions and maintains membership in the Midian Shrine based in Wichita.

“The Blue Valley Recreation Commission is pleased to have Doug involved,” said current Commission Chair Cindy McAlister. “His volunteer involvement and love of the community fits well with Blue Valley Rec’s vision.”
Volunteer commissioners have a passion for enriching the lives of local residents through recreational activities and sports. The seven-member Board serves as a policy-setting board for the organization and meets monthly. Each commissioner serves on a committee comprised of staff and citizen members from the community. Seaberg will serve on the Community Relations Committee and as an alternate for the Softball Advisory Council.
