Blue Valley Rec is the place for softball in Overland Park with fun leagues and quality instruction in a fun and safe environment. Our grade-specific youth softball leagues and quality camps allow every participant to be part of a team

Youth Softball Leagues

Softball has many benefits for kids, including physical and mental health, experiencing teamwork, and developing social skills. The sport helps develop motor skills including hand-eye coordination and boosts confidence.

Summer Youth Softball (March - July)

Grades Pre-K to 8

Open to all girls in grades Pre-K through 8th grade during 2024-25 academic year. We are committed to adhering to high standards for coaches and parents in their position as a role model to our youth.

Premier League (March - June)

Ages 8U to 18U

Managed by Blue Valley Rec, this league is offered for teams who wish to compete at a higher skill level (A, B & C levels). The Blue Valley Premier Fastpitch League offers divisions for teams in 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U & 16U-18U. The age cutoff date is Sept. 1 of each year. In each age division, teams will be divided up to by competitive levels. Players on a BV Premier Fastpitch team are not allowed to play or substitute for a team in a lower division within the BVRC leagues. This league is team registration only.

Fall Softball

Grades K to 8

Open to girls in grades K-8 during 2024-25 academic year. We are committed to adhering to high standards for coaches and parents in their position as a role model to our youth. This league is team registration only.

Softball Camps

Ages 6 to 16

Blue Valley Rec softball camps in Overland Park are a great opportunity to improve skills, learn a new sport, or have fun being part of an encouraging atmoshere.

Tournaments

Ages 6 to 18

Blue Valley Rec hosts several tournament and also rents the Sports Complex to outside organizations for their tournaments.

Supports in areas requiring programming recommendations and administrative review. Composed of an odd number of members, with a minimum of three with three year terms.

Conducts interviews and selecting coaches.
Deliberates and acts on formal protests.
Reviews rules, policies, post-season evaluations and surveys.
Recommends changes for consideration by staff.
Reviews and recommends action on special requests from parents/player concerning team changes.
Conducts hearings on “incidents,” as defined by the Official Rules and Policies Handbook currently in effect for the particular program, and recommends appropriate actions.
