I can’t express enough how wonderful this place is and their staff! We were looking for somewhere that focused on the basics and especially safety when doing gymnastics for our 4 and 2 year old. We got so much more out of our gymnastics class than we ever expected! The gymnastic classes are well run, the staff is incredible!

I’ve taken Power Cycle on Tuesday and Thursday when my work schedule permits it and it is my favorite spin class of all your offerings. The instructor has great playlists with varied music. It is some of the best music, and I’ve taken spin classes at CycleBar, Lifetime, and Soul Cycle. The music is so vital to the inspiration and energy of spinning! Jody’s music is very engaging compared to your other instructors, who have repeatedly played many of the same playlists.

At Blue Valley Recreation, we’re passionate about giving our community a place to gather, stay active, and have fun! With 3 facilities, a family-friendly environment, and a wide range of programs, we’ve got something for everyone.
When Blue Valley citizens in 1986 noticed a shortage of recreational opportunities in their community, they took action, and Blue Valley Rec was born. From the very beginning, our recreation center in Overland Park served the community members of the Blue Valley School District, and that mission drives all our programs and activities.
At Blue Valley Rec, we take our responsibility as a recreation facilitator seriously. The members of our staff and commission are dedicated to serving the Blue Valley community to the best of our abilities. We believe every member of our community should have access to clean, safe fun.
Through our partnership with the Blue Valley School District, we provide opportunities for enrichment and exercise at an affordable price. We’re also grateful for our community’s heroic volunteering efforts and sponsorships from local businesses.
We also work hard to provide recreation for people at every stage in their life. We offer swim lessons for children as young as 6 months old, enrichment opportunities for retirees, and all sorts of activities in between. No one is outside of our mission and community at Blue Valley Rec.
We serve you through the joint efforts of our commissioners, committee members, paid staff members, and thousands of volunteers. These people from our community have stepped up to provide for their friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Our commission and recreation center in Overland Park would not exist without their support.
The Blue Valley Recreation Commission is a board comprised of 7 members that meets once a month.
